I am disappointed with Peachtree City Council member Kim Learnard’s behavior in the newspaper as of lately.
As a council member, she could do much to change the negative perception of the persistent fighting in Peachtree City. Instead, she has chosen to once again throw gasoline on the fire.
Using the term “insanity” was not a wise choice of words to use when discussing the county Board of Commissioners’ appeal of a lawsuit.
It is her right to disagree. As a conservative Republican council member, I disagreed with Kim on many occasions. I never once called her insane.
Council member Learnard could have just said that she disagrees with the county commission’s opinion. I cannot imagine she would appreciate anyone calling her “insane” in the newspapers.
I’m also wondering what council member Learnard’s motivation was on bashing Chairman Steve Brown for demanding accountability from the Development Authority? Does she oppose government accountability?
Wasn’t this, in fact, one of the very same issues that caused council member Learnard to spearhead the push to disband the Development Authority of Peachtree City?
I certainly don’t want to see more tabloid government in Peachtree City. We had enough of that with Logsdon vs. Haddix and the taxpayers paying the bill.
It would be nice if council member Learnard and her fellow council members concentrated more on effectively running their own government, rather than trying to micromanage the county, a jurisdiction where they have no authority.
The Board of Commissioners seems to be doing a good job on their own of handling the county business.
The rumor is that Peachtree City is going to put a member of the City Council as the new county development authority member from the city. I would conjecture that council is doing this to insure they have accountability from the development authority.
Wasn’t that the same thing council member Learnard was criticizing Chairman Steve Brown for doing?
