Claude Fryer, Jr., 93, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away in the arms of his daughter, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Southwest Christian Care, Union City, Ga. He was born in Moore County, Mo. on January 12, 1921.

He moved to Peachtree City, Ga. in 1984 and often said it was the best move he had ever made! Claude was a member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church, a U.S. NAVY veteran of WWII, and a lifetime member of the VFW. The loves of his life were his family, the Fryer Golf Group, playing bridge, and in his younger days, dancing, bowling and table tennis.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Adelaide Frances Johnston Fryer, his son 1LT Lee Johnston Fryer, and 3 very special ladies, Marge Adams, Betty Clarke and Fran Wallace.

He is survived by his daughter Jean Fryer Raines and her husband Charles, of Newnan, Ga.; grandsons Charles A. Raines II and his wife, Amanda of Richmond, IN, and Christopher L. Raines and his wife Melissa, of Atlanta, GA; and great-grandchildren Hailey J. Raines and Luke J. Raines; niece Kay Lyons Vescio and nephews Michael Fryer, Richard Fryer, Kevin Fryer, Donald Fryer and Fred Lyons.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell and Son in Peachtree City, Ga. Services will be held at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11a.m., officiated by Dr. Steve Dodson and Rev. Sean Robinson, with a reception at noon. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Floral Hills Cemetery, Tucker, Ga.
