Ruby Keith, age 96, of Fayetteville, Ga., died on Friday, March 28, 2014. Mrs. Keith was born in Jackson, Ga., on December 30, 1917. Daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Cawthon, she is preceded in death by Henry H. Keith, husband of 69 years, and her brother Robert Stanley Cawthon.
Mrs. Keith is survived by son Dr. Robert M. Keith and his wife Phyllis, daughter Regina K. May and her husband Dr. Gary L. May, and her sister, Nina Helms of East Point. Her grandchildren include Jennifer Hebblethwaite and husband Kevin of Newnan, Dr. Keith May and wife Ashley of Cumming, Robert Keith of New York City, and Kevin Simmons and wife Courtney of Land O’ Lakes, Florida. The great grandchildren are Carson and Rachel Hebblethwaite, and Sawyer and Griffin May.
A member of Sylvan Hills Baptist Church for 50 years and currently a member of McDonough Road Baptist Church, Mrs. Keith faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher and community volunteer.
A 1935 graduate of Russell High School, Mrs. Keith was employed at Dun & Bradstreet and later retired from Sears after 25 years of service.
The family receive friends at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Services were held on Friday, April 4, 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
