“The Cry of the Whole Congregation” is a dramatic portrayal of the events in the last week before Jesus’ resurrection. It will provide the structure for all services this weekend, April 12 and 13, at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City. The service was written by Walter Wangerin, a noted pastor/professor/novelist/essayist. He employs four story-tellers, three of whom assume the roles of Pilate, Judas, and Peter; the fourth voices the words of Jesus.
Dancers, drummers, and musicians all help propel the narrative, but in reality all in the congregation are cast members.
Holy Communion will be included in the Saturday service at 7 p.m., but not on Sunday morning, when the services are at 8:30, 10:50, and 11 a.m. All are invited.
