An April 1 dispute between neighbors over a lawnmower led to one man shooting the other in the leg. Coweta County deputies are searching for the south Coweta man who fled the scene carrying a handgun.

Michael Eure Hanson, 36, is being sought in connection with the shooting on Joy Springs Drive in southeast Coweta County, according to Maj. James Yarbrough.

Yarbrough said a dispute began between Hanson and a neighbor at approximately 4:15 p.m. on April 1 over a borrowed lawnmower. The neighbor did not return the lawnmower in a timely manner which resulted in an argument.

The argument escalated and Hanson shot the neighbor in the left thigh with a .380-caliber handgun, said Yarbrough. The man was transported to Grady Hospital.

Hanson is described as a black male, 36 years old, 5’9” in height and weighing 207 pounds. Hanson has a cross tattooed on his left arm and another, “Lil Mike,” on his right arm, Yarbrough said.

Hanson is wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm and is considered armed and dangerous, said Yarbrough.

Yarbrough on Wednesday said the car in which Hanson fled the area has been located.

Anyone with information on Hanson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator Chad McDonald at 770-253-1502.
