FAYETTE COUNTY

BASEBALL: Lost 7-5 to Troup County. Chazz Walker pitched four strong innings and Chris Jones went 4-for-4 in the game.

LANDMARK

BASEBALL: Defeated Mt. Vernon 15-1 in five innings.

SOCCER: Lost 1-0 to Providence Christian (boys) on a second-half penalty kick. The team is now 4-4 overall and 1-1 in area play.

TENNIS: Split a match against Whitefield. The boys won 4-1 behind singles winners Michael Edwards, Chris Manning and Collin McFadden. The doubles team of Zachary Taylor and Zachary Carter came from behind to win the last five games and take their match. The girls fell 5-0 to Whitefield.

McINTOSH

BASEBALL: Lost 9-8 to Mt. Zion but pounded out ten hits. Mike Dolak and Josh Ange had two hits apiece.

LACROSSE: Won 15-0 against area opponent Woodward (boys) in what coach Tom Hill called “a complete team effort.” The girls lost 19-14 to Blessed Trinity, as Tulah Blanton scored five goals and Kylie Bednarik was the leading defender with five ground balls/takeaways.

OUR LADY OF MERCY

BASEBALL: Lost 10-4 to Pace Academy. Justin Emerson, Austin Loper and Brian Freeman each had RBI singles, and Cameron Merrell added a double for the Bobcats.

SANDY CREEK

SOCCER: Won by forfeit (girls) over Langston Hughes. The boys defeated Langston Hughes 8-1.

STARR’S MILL

LACROSSE: Defeated Pace (girls) 19-2. Allie Merritt played solid goal tending, and the defense, led by Grace Beardsley and Katie Wilson, caused many turnovers to keep the ball on the Lady Panthers’ offensive end.

WHITEWATER

GOLF: Defeated Sandy Creek (boys) at Durham Lakes. The Wildcats shot a 165, led by Spencer Taylor (38), Andrew Bankston (42) and Luke Hutchinson (42). Taylor, Bankston and Matt Hood all shot in the 40s in the team’s 165-170 win over East Coweta.

LACROSSE: Won 14-10 over Newnan (boys). The Wildcats took an early lead before Newnan tied the score in the first, then Whitewater took control of the game in the second quarter, holding off a late fourth-quarter comeback attempt. The team lost 14-4 to Whitefield.
