The new Senoia Development Authority will hold its first meeting Monday. Expected to serve as an organizational meeting, it will include agenda items such as the election of officers and a discussion of the by-laws governing the authority.
Authority members include Doug Kohlbenschlag, Bill Wood, Harry Ramos, Tammie Adams, Jim Schuyler, Matthew Bennett and former Mayor Robert Belisle.
The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Stone Lodge at Merrimac Lakes, located at 140 Pylant Street. The meeting is open to the public.
The meeting will have members take the oath of office, elect officers, consider the draft of the authority’s by-laws, discuss the Ga. Open Meetings law, schedule meeting dates and hear an overview of a proposed project to finance improvements at the Senoia Charter Academy located on Ga. Highway 16.
The development authority should not be confused with the city’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) which functions as a separate entity.
The city in the fall was contacted by Coweta Charter Academy operator Charter Schools USA, asking if the city had a development authority that could work with the company on bond financing.
DDA’s boundaries do not extend to the far west side of the city.
