0Genevieve G. “Meme” Peek, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away February 1, 2014.
She was an avid gardener, cook and seamstress. She was also a founding member of The Summit Church of South Fayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Cora Garner, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Dan Peek of Fayetteville, son and daughter-in-law Lee & Leigh Ann Peek of Fayetteville, daughter Lynne Peek-Cuny of Fayetteville, daughter and son-in-law Lorrie & Dan McNeill of Atlanta, grandchildren Danielle Stephens, Kalli Cuny, Elaine Peek, Genevieve Peek, brother David & Adel Garner of Forked River, N.J.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Dr. Martin Huggins and Pastor Sandy Wilmesherr officiated. Mrs. Peek laid in state from 2 until 3 p.m. The burial followed at Flat Creek Church Cemetery. The family received friends Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
