Virginia L. Tramonte, 82, of Peachtree City, passed away January 25, 2014.
Virginia was born in Tylertown, Miss., the oldest child of Florence and Percy Reid. She moved to Kenner, La. in 1950 and married Anthony R. Tramonte, Sr. In 1993, they moved to Ocean Springs, Miss. In 2010 she moved to Peachtree City, Ga. and for the past couple of years has been a resident of Kindred Transitional Care Lafayette in Fayetteville. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church with many friends at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Virginia has worked in many varied careers. She owned a ceramics arts store, worked as a Jefferson Parish School bus driver and pre-k and cafeteria worker for St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Ocean Springs, Miss.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Sandifer and Percy Reid; husband Anthony R. Tramonte, Sr.; daughter Rosa Tramonte Carpenter; brothers O.D. Reid, Percy Anthony Reid and O.B. Reid; sisters Katie Reid and Myrtle Creel; sister-in-law Betty Reid of Tylertown, Miss.; brothers-in-law Denver Creel, James Ward, Al Baygents, Leroy Keating, Pete Calagna and Sam Catalano.
Virginia is survived by her son Anthony R. Tramonte, Jr. (Connie) of Peachtree City; grandchildren Katie Tramonte Willenburg (Andrew) of Baton Rouge, La., Ryan Tramonte of Baton Rouge, La. and Rachel Tramonte of Peachtree City; sisters Mary Baygents of Tickfaw, La. and Faye Reid (Ray) of Jayess, Miss.; brothers and sisters-in-law August & Jean Tramonte of Marietta, Ga., Lucille Keating of Kenner, La., Betty Reid of Denham Springs, La. and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Pavol Brenkus and Deacon Tony Cuomo officiated.
