Jerome Edward (Jerry) Morgan, a resident of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away after a long illness Tuesday, December 24, 2013. He was born on November 13, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Frank and Sara Morgan. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a Sonar Operator in the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged. Jerome was the Beloved and devoted husband of Diane Morgan for 26 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife/caregiver; stepdaughter Andrea DeSilva; stepson Richard Hearn; sister-in-law Deborah Bowen; son-in-law Wayne DeSilva; granddaughter Kaden DeSilva; aunt Beverly Blake and a host of family and friends whom were blessed to know him.
Jerome enjoyed sports, playing Racquetball with his friends from World Gym, Peachtree City and bowling. He was a 2nd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8081 in Peachtree City, Ga. He supported many charitable organizations in hopes of making life better for others. He volunteered his services for many years to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank affiliated with St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Jonesboro, Ga.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 12 noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the church.
