Christopher Ward VanOrden, 48, died suddenly Monday, November 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Jane VanOrden.
The youngest of five children, Chris is survived by his sisters, Amy (David) Tratt, Cathy and Linda VanOrden; brother, KC (Desiree) VanOrden; as well as former wife, Lori VanOrden and her daughter and her grandchildren.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Mich. on September 13, 1965. Chris was a much loved uncle to Dan, Peter, and Mark Tratt, Caitlyn and Kurt VanOrden, and Daniel and Jonathan Wood. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins to cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at Peachtree City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4947 Hwy 34 E, Sharpsburg, Ga. on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 11:00 am. The family wishes to express gratitude to special cousin, Micki Pangman and her husband, George, who will preside over the service.
Chris touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a gentleman and gentle man. He leaves a legacy of trust, humor and love, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the American Heart Association or to Life Link Legacy Fund which continues to provide hope to those in need of surgical, medical or transplant therapy, since Chris was a donor himself.
