Helen O’Connor McCarl, 101 of Florence, Ala. passed away Oct.9, 2013.
Born on a farm in Galesburg, Ill. on Dec. 16, 1911; Helen had many wonderful stories to share of her life there. She married Howard Hines McCarl and moved to Florence where she had three sons, Stephen, Richard and Howard “Bo”.
Helen is survived by Richard Byrne McCarl and wife, Angie and his three children, Morgan Spear McCarl, Mollie McCarl Baldwin and Trevor McCarl as well as Bo’s wife, Carl McCarl and their daughter, Lauren Dutra.
Proud of her Irish heritage, Helen was active in the League of Women Voters and the Catholic Church.
There will be no local services.
