SlowExposures Photography Festival opens this weekend with a myriad of activities and events. Friday evening at A Novel Experience in Zebulon is the scene of the opening reception for Rob MacDonald’s series, Native Ground photographs celebrating icons of Southern literature. Photography as jurors of the 2013 photography exhibit. This main exhibit is held at the Strickland Building in Concord. Opening reception for the main exhibit is September 22 at noon. This follows the popular Juror Talk at 11 a.m.. On Saturday, September 21 at 5 p.m. the scene is at the historical Whiskey Bonding Barn in Molena with the opening of Fin, Fur, Feather, and

There is an interesting showing of local photographers in this year’s juried show. Approximately 850 images were submitted from all over the country. Six women from Fayette County have work in this exhibit of 66 images. From Peachtree City; Tricia Stearns, Susan Wilson, and Marquita Schneider Foster. Representing Fayetteville; Dale Niles, Susan Perry, and Donna Rosser. Rosser and Niles also have work in the invitational exhibit at the Whiskey Bonding Barn and are joined by another Fayetteville resident, Marilyn Rogers.
