The U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office last week apprehended a Fayette County fugitive who is charged with child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.

Ricardo Sullivan, who was wanted by the Peachtree City Police Department, was located in Cobb County after several months of being wanted in several jurisdictions.

U.S. Marshals began the investigation in conjunction with several other agencies in late August and were able to locate Sullivan at his place of employment in Austell, Ga., Wednesday.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office attempted to arrest Sullivan who at first attempted to run from officers.

After Sullivan was contained, he continued to fight and allegedly attempted to retrieve a loaded .410 caliber single shot pistol from his pocket.

Deputies were able to subdue the fugitive and prevent him from accessing the firearm. Additional ammunition was also located on Sullivan for the derringer.

Sullivan was charged with felony obstruction and possession of a firearm during a felony by the Cobb county sheriff’s office. Sullivan was also wanted for burglary out of Gwinnett County.

Sullivan was transported to the Cobb County Jail after his arrest.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s investigator assigned to the task force was the principal investigator for this arrest, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.
