Col. Norbert Martin Reinert, U.S. Army, retired, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away June 18, 2013 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital after a long illness.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Col. Reinert graduated with an MBA from the University of Chattanooga and attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He held many positions in the banking industry from 1958-1971. During his military career he graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff School and U.S. Army War College. He retired at Fort Knox, Ky. after 30 years of commissioned service.
He is survived by his wife, Della Reinert of Fayetteville; sons, John David Reinert and his wife, Karen, Anthony Copley Reinert, Michael Gilbert Reinert and Andrew Joseph Reinert and his wife, Sally; grandchildren, Sara Scout Reinert, Francis Ridge Reinert, Autumn Danielle Reinert, Peyton Copley Reinert and Andrew J. Reinert, Jr.; sister, Laverne Hoffman; stepson, Jack L. Hammond and his wife, Donna, and step-grandchildren, Ike Taylor Hammond, Noah Taylor Hammond and Quinn Taylor Hammond.
A funeral service was held Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Chattanooga, Tenn. Visitation was Tuesday at Bosse Funeral Home, Louisville, Ky.
