Helen was born on August 25, 1923, in Atlanta, Ga. and passed peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2013.

She had been a resident of Baptist Manor in Palmetto, Ga. until she was recently moved to hospice care in Fayette County.

She retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a rate officer in Marketing & Research located in Washington, D.C. in 1979 after 36 years of service.

She was predeceased by her father, Grover Meister and mother, Agnes Tillman; nephews, Buddy Williams, Jimmy Bowen and Sandy Bennett.

Helen is survived by her sisters Hazel Fretwell, Eloise Bowen, Joe and husband Jamie Williams, as well as her niece, Karen Douglass, Phyllis Timms, Denise Ham, Beverly Martin, Diane Williams, Patricia Jones and caregiving niece Debbie Gronner and daughters Loni Bryant and Angie Stryker (to whom Helen was “like a sweet grandmother”) nephews Mike Williams and Tony Williams.

The memorial service honoring and celebrating Helen’s amazing life will be held Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga.

You are invited to come and hear the story of a great woman leaving quite a legacy. There will be a reception to follow at the church.
