Dr. Dan Steere will lead a study entitled “Luther, Calvin and the Early Reformation” at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sunday evenings through April 28 at 6 p.m.

The four-week study covers the first two generations of the Reformation and provides an overview of the main issues that provoked this return to biblical Christianity along with a discussion of some of the variations of Protestantism that resulted.

The course will also introduce Martin Luther, John Calvin and other influential individuals whose impact on the Church continues to this day.

Steere, project director for Equipping Leaders International, was born to missionary parents in Forteleza, Brazil and during his formative years lived in British Columbia (Canada), Washington and Illinois. He became a Christian during his first year of college and became the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, PCA, in Summerville, Ga. in 1998. He has been an active member of North Georgia Presbytery and was elected by the PCA General Assembly to serve as a board member for Ridge Haven. He holds a Ph.D. in English reformation history and serves as an adjunct instructor of church history for Reformed Theological Seminary, Atlanta.

He has been married to his wife Susan for 30 years and they have four children.
