Dayton Calhoun, III, 68, of Hogansville, Ga. died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Newnan, Ga.
Mr. Calhoun was born Dec. 31, 1944 in Hamilton, Ga., son of the late Dayton Calhoun, Jr. and Lou Burleson Calhoun. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, and a member of Glennville Baptist Church, Glennville, Ga.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his first wife, Cheryl Phillips Calhoun.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Holland Calhoun of Hogansville, Ga.; two children, Amanda Calhoun Wolverton and her husband, Tobin, of Simpsonville, S.C. and Dayton Calhoun, IV, and his wife, Jennifer, of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; three step children, Jill Phillips and her husband, Roger, Karla Hendrix and her husband, Shane, and Cara Lewis and her husband, Mike; three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Scott Hannah officiating. Burial followed in Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Ga.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Franklin in memory of Mr. Dayton Calhoun, III.
