Darcie Gill, mission representative for Voice of the Martyrs, will speak at Heritage Baptist Church’s Ladies Fellowship in Fayetteville this Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m.
The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide.
Through her work with Voice of the Martyrs, Gill has been serving the persecuted family for over 14 years.
She has traveled extensively, sometimes with her husband Tim, throughout the United States sharing the message of the persecuted church.
She has traveled to Sudan, China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Cuba, Myanmar, Laos, Kashmir, India, Korea, Columbia and the Middle East to bring help, encouragement and assistance to Christians who live there.
Voice of the Martyrs was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ.
His wife, Sabina, was imprisoned for three years.
In the 1960s, Richard, Sabina, and their son, Mihai, were ransomed out of Romania and came to the United States.
Through their travels, the Wurmbrands spread the message of the atrocities that Christians face in restricted nations, while establishing a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church.
The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today.
