The United States Coast Guard Academy Cadet Chorale will perform at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City this Friday, Jan. 18, at 7:15 p.m.
Sarah Hohenberger, a 4/c cadet from Peachtree City, will be among the singers.
The group is comprised of Idlers (all male) and Fairwinds (female counterparts).The performance is part of the chorale’s winter tour to Savannah and the Atlanta area and is open to the public.
The Coast Guard Cadet Chorale is a select group of cadets, determined to be the top singers from the academy’s 50 -member official Glee Club.
The group performs a variety of music, featuring close harmony renditions of patriotic selections, sea chanteys, and show/swing tunes.The group travels extensively throughout the United States to perform for both public and official functions.
They have appeared at Disneyworld in Florida, the Rose Bowl Parade in California, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, and the 2005 Super Bowl.
The group’s director and musical arranger is Dr. Robert G. Newton, director of vocal music at the USCGA.
