Mr. Wayne Holcombe, of Fayetteville, passed away on December 14, 2012 at the age of 59.
Wayne was a loving, caring, honest, supportive, hardworking, family man. He was a man’s man who had the ability to make something out of nothing. He was always an encourager, always wanting the best for his family and to see them succeed. Wayne was the owner and operator of Holcombe Truck Repair. He loved his family and the time that he spent with his sons at work, as well as time spent with family following his daughter across the country watching her play softball. He enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the Atlanta Tennis Association, as well as the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father Amos James Holcombe.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Vickey Hickman Holcombe; sons Justin Holcombe, Chad Holcombe and wife Julie; daughters Ashley Bell and husband Cliff, Kelly Rickman and husband Andrew; grandchildren Courtney and Jay Holcombe, Charlie and Maci Rickman; mother Hazel Holcombe; brothers Jack Holcombe and wife Gloria and Mike Holcombe and wife Glynis.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Reverend Larry Lawrence officiated. Interment followed at New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Fayetteville. The family received friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
