A College Park woman was arrested Wednesday morning after producing a robbery note at the Publix store at the Fayette Pavilion and being apprehended a short time later by officers who found her walking in the area.

Keri Lynn Moreland, 38, of College Park, was charged with armed robbery, according to Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said officers responded to a possible robbery call at the Publix store on Pavilion Parkway Wednesday at approximately 11:15 a.m. Officers were told a black female entered the store and handed a cashier a note, demanding the money in the drawer. The woman took the money and left the store, Crawshaw said.

Crawshaw said the store manager watched Moreland run across the Publix parking lot and provided officers with a description. Officers and deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Fayetteville Police Dept. began searching the area. Moreland was found walking along Pavilion Parkway, Crawshaw said. The money and a kitchen knife were found in her possession, Crawshaw added.
