Big wins for Whitewater, Sandy Creek, Landmark and Fayette

Whitewater (6-1) hosted McIntosh (4-2) on what was senior night for the Wildcats and senior Kendall Conley had a game for the ages. The senior running back rushed for over 250 yards and four touchdowns in the first half of a Whitewater blowout over the Chiefs. Three of Conley’s touchdowns in the first half came on plays of sixty yards or more. Colton Clemons added a touchdown on a fumble recovery, while Austin Penland connected with Jonathan Womack on a touchdown pass in the third quarter for another Whitewater score.

McIntosh’s Duke Kinamon, replacing an injured Andrew Johnson in the second half, there a touchdown pass to Brian Floyd. Kinamon added a rushing touchdown later to make the score 48-13.

McIntosh will host Starr’s Mill (2-4), while Whitewater will play at Creekside.

Sandy Creek (6-0) celebrated their homecoming with a win over Shaw. Eric Swinney, Maceo Brown, Zeric Willis and Kyle Wilson each had a touchdown in the first half and kicker Mitchell McMillin kicked a 54 yard field goal to end the first half. Shaw cut the Patriots’ lead to 31-18 in the third. Shaw cut the lead to 31-26 but Swinney added another two touchdowns in the final minutes to make the lead 44-26. Khari Lane added another touchdown with a return on an interception to make the score 51-26. Sandy Creek will play at Alexander next Friday.

Fayette County (1-5) put a 14-0 lead on Columbus by the second quarter and cruised to a 41-7 win. The Tigers will host LaGrange next week.

Landmark Christian (5-2) hosted Strong Rock Christian and blew them out 49-0. They will play at Pace Academy next Friday.

Our Lady of Mercy (4-3) faced Holy Innocents on the road and lost 23-17. They will host Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy.
