Grady Cecil Gable, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Ironworker, businessman, and gardener. He was a hard worker and always went by the motto, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” He was a welder by trade and worked with the Iron Workers Local #387, eventually becoming the business manager. He had a love for gardening.
He is survived by his wife Carol Gable; son Jerry Gable and his wife Muriel of Ellijay; grandsons Jeff Gable and his wife Beverly of Roswell, and Philip Gable and his wife Sara of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brothers Marvin Boyce Gable and his wife Jewell of Fayetteville, and Clifford Earl Gable and his wife Edith of Pine Mountain; brother-in-law Russell Jackson of Blue Ridge; step children Jason Walker, Ramona Roberts, Janet Hardy, and Harvey Ray Roberts, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Camp Memorial Park with the Pastor Windell Burdette officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
