Funeral services was Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church for Louis M. Werner, 88, of Ohatchee, Ala.
Father Gray Bean officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale, Ma. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Werner was a native of Boston, Ma. and served in the Army from 1946-1947. He was employed as a mechanic with Northeastern/Delta Airlines for 40 years. He loved traveling, photography and was a model train buff.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Elizabeth Werner and his son Carl Werner.
He is survived by his sons; Kurt Werner and Glenn Werner, daughter; Dianne Maney, grandchildren; Chad Werner, Tania Barlet, Melinda Lopez, Michael Maney, Carolyn Werner, Ben Werner, and Alex Werner, great-grandchildren; Brittany Werner, Bethany Werner, Sebastian Lopez, Pandora Lopez and Cooper Louis Maney, and sister; Margaret Torres.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 622 Chestnut Street, Gadsden, Ala. 35901.
Pallbearers were Alex Werner, Ben Werner, Chad Werner and Michael Maney.
Visitation was from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.
