Lois Irene Bonds passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2012 with her loving children by her side.
Lois was born September 7, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. She lived most of her life in Chicago and the surrounding area, and was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago. She enlisted in the women’s auxiliary of the armed forces during WWII, but the war ended 1 week before she was due to report for duty. She went on to work in offices of steel plants and fine paper distributors for many years. She was a world traveler, a business woman, a writer and a loving wife and mother. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, living in Peachtree City for the last 24 years.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Bernard C. Bonds. She is survived by her son William Bonds of Peachtree City, her daughter Lori Pinter and her husband Randy of Peachtree City, granddaughter Meghann Yosten and her husband Nicholas of Farmington, Mo., and sister Kathlyn Nilsen of Bloomingdale, Ill.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Schepmann. The family received family and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in honor of Lois to the Ronald H. Janssen Memorial Endowment Fund through St. Paul Lutheran Church, 700 Ardenlee Pkwy, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269 or the Piedmont Fayette Hospital Cancer Wellness Program through Piedmont Healthcare Foundation.
