The Fayette District Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have named Jay Fralish, former US Air Force Pilot and current Delta Pilot, as its District Chairman.

Fralish has served the Scouts in Fayette County as Scoutmaster for Troop 212 with Fayetteville Living Faith Church since 2002, and has had the privilege of mentoring over 40 Eagle Scouts. He has also worked as staff for the Boy Scout National Jamboree in 2005 and 2010.

The District Chairman is the top volunteer role in a district and is selected and approved by the Council President and Executive Board. The District Chairman has the responsibility of overseeing and guiding the district in achieving goals related to the four functions of district operations: Membership, Finance, Program, and Unit Service.

The District Chairman presides at the monthly district committee meeting and is responsible for securing and presenting an annual slate of district officers and committee. The district chairman is the strongest volunteer advocate in representing volunteers to the community and serves as a member of the Flint River Council Boy Scout Executive Board.
