The 2012 Southern Crescent “Walk To End Alzheimer’s” has new volunteer leadership to help guide this event to its successful conclusion on October 6th in Peachtree City.  Sue Shaffer, Chair (left), and Raquel O’Sullivan, Assistant Chair, are joining forces to head up this annual walk sponsored by the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  The Walk was originally organized in 2000 by Peachtree City co-founder Floy Farr, whose wife suffered from Alzheimer’s.  Over the past eleven years the Walk has raised over $2,000,000 to assist those families affected by this terrible disease.  The leaders are in the process of coordinating and enlisting teams of volunteers from seven counties on Atlanta’s south side.  Teams from Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Fulton, Henry, Meriwether and Spaulding counties will solicit donations from individuals and businesses.  Their efforts culminate with the Walk on October 6th in Peachtree City.
