The Fayette County Post 105 of The American Legion recently presented its 2012 Public Safety Awards. Pictured at the 2012 Public Safety Recognition Dinner (L-R) are B.I. Murrell, Post 105 Public Safety Awards Chairman; Capt. Keith Harris, Fayetteville Fire Department; Lt. Terry Black, Fayette County Marshal’s Office; Officer Keith Jojola, Fayetteville Police Department; Investigator Kimberly Henkel, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office; EMT Russell Sharpe, Fayette County Fire & Emergency Services; Sgt. Brad Williams, Peachtree City Police Department; and Denny Leander, Post 105 Commander. Not pictured is Firefighter Jurgen Gary Half, Peachtree City Fire Department. Many community organizations recognize selected law enforcement and emergency service departments but Post 105 is unique in its long-running program to honor an outstanding member from every department in Fayette County. Fayette County Post 105 is the oldest military veterans organization in the county. They meet the second Monday of each month at the Log Cabin in Fayetteville. Photo/Robert Ladd.
