A Senoia man has been indicted on charges that he went to two bus stops in south Peachtree City in hopes of luring two young girls to have sex with him.

Damian Lee Yerger, 24, of 140 Autumn Creek Drive is accused of two counts of criminal attempt to entice a child for indecent purposes, two counts of criminal attempt to commit child molestation and three counts of loitering/prowling. He has entered a not guilty plea to all charges and has remained in jail since his Nov. 3 arrest.

The indictment accuses Yerger of targeting a 15-year-old girl at a school bus stop in the Balmoral Village Apartments on Oct. 27 and a 12-year-old girl at a bus stop at Log House Road and Meadow Run. The indictment claims that Yerger intended to have sexual intercourse with both victims.

The indictment was authorized by a Fayette County Grand Jury April 10, and it means that there is enough evidence for Yerger to stand trial on the criminal charges.

Yerger was arrested Nov. 3 by Peachtree City Police who were investigating reports of a gray SUV that appeared at the bus stop at Balmoral Village Apartments.

The driver of the SUV reportedly told two juveniles that they looked “pretty” and he invited them to sit in his car because it was cold, police said.

The SUV would leave the area after the juveniles either declined or left the area, police said at the time.

In addition to alerting the media and the public about the incidents through the city’s computer messaging system, police increased patrols, interviewed witnesses and developed leads from citizens that led them to Yerger’s Senoia residence, where his gray Honda Element SUV was also located, police said.
