To observe Child Abuse Awareness Month, The Children’s Village at Christian City is asking the community to consider sponsoring a child.
As a sponsor, you may choose whether to sponsor a boy or a girl and you will receive a profile with their photo and biographical information as well as updates from The Children’s Village.
For $30 a month, or $360 annually, The Child Sponsorship Program is a vital part of providing love and care children so desperately need.
With over 695,000 unique confirmed reports of child abuse and neglect each year, it is becoming a serious problem in the United States.
It has been proven that children who suffer abuse or neglect are 53 percent more likely to become juvenile delinquents, 38 percent more likely to be arrested as adults, and 38 percent more likely to become violent criminals. Furthermore, about 30 percent of abused and neglected children will abuse their own children later in life.
The Children’s Village at Christian City provides the love and care these abused and neglected children need to stop the vicious cycles of abuse.
Through the Child Sponsorship program, Christian City’s Children’s Village provides a loving environment free from the threat of abuse in the night or abandonment in the morning.
They are a safe haven for these kids and provide them with food, clothing, a solid education, medical and dental care, emotional support, and the daily guidance of loving Christian house parents.
The program’s family environment allows children from every background to have access to a traditional family unit and support systems to help mend their wounded spirits.
The dedicated house parents are an important component of why The Children’s Village is successful at turning broken-spirited, angry, or sad children into productive, stable, and good-hearted kids.
The programs helps break the negative cycles children have experienced in their very short lifetimes and help them learn the life skills they need for success.
