Two weeks ago the members of Holly Grove A.M.E Church in Peachtree City found an assortment of garbage and debris that had been dumped in the parking lot near the rear of the building. On April 15 a Peachtree City man turned himself in on charges of unlawful dumping.

Michael W. Mustain, 39, of Deergrass Trail, was charged with misdemeanor illegal dumping, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Rosanna Dove.

Dove said officers on April 4 responded to the church in reference to garbage and wooden landscaping materials that had been illegally dumped in the parking lot, adding that the garbage included wooden furniture and boxes, pieces of landscaping wood and a tire.

During an inspection of the contents officers were able to obtain suspect information, Dove said. An investigation revealed that the owners of the garbage and debris had hired Mustain to remove a child’s wooden fort, furniture, boxes and other household debris from their home.

Mustain was allegedly supposed to take the debris to the county landfill but dumped it, instead, in the Holly Grove A.M.E. parking lot, Dove said.
