Deborah “Debbie”Fricks Appleton, 53, of Newnan, Ga., passed away Wed., April 11, 2012 in the company of her family.

She was born August 15, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas to James Larry Fricks and Myra Ann Simpson Fricks. She graduated from Southaven High School in Southaven, Miss., in 1976.

She attended the University of Memphis, and graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1980. Debbie spent many years in critical care nursing, including ICU, CCU, and open heart. She worked most recently, from 1996-2010 at Marietta Surgical Center in Marietta, Ga. She was a loving wife, mother of two, and stepmother of two.

Debbie’s strong willed, loving and caring nature inspired her family, friends and coworkers. She had a passion for family, travel, and fun with friends. She was especially fond of spending time at the beach. She believed she was so very blessed and was incredibly thankful for her family and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Larry. She is survived by her mother Myra Fricks Pace (Will); husband of 13 years, Joe Appleton, son Zachary Hindman; daughter, Kelly Hindman, stepson Darin Appleton (Kristy), stepson Ryan Appleton, brother Timothy Fricks (Donna), and brother Ronald Fricks.

A time of visitation with family will be held in Peachtree City, Ga. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Sat., April 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, followed by a graveside service at Westminster Memorial Gardens.

The family welcomes flowers or donations to The West Clinic, Memphis, Tenn. designated for cervical cancer research, “In Memory of Debbie Appleton”
