A Peachtree City man was arrested Thursday for peering over a wall at a naked 16-year-old girl while inside a tanning salon in the Kedron Village shopping center earlier in the afternoon, police said.

Joseph W. Havey, 59, of Hamden Kells was charged with one count of peeping tom from the incident, which happened at Peachtree Tan, according to police reports of the incident.

The wall was 9 feet high in the booth occupied by Havey, and the reporting officer noted that anyone looking over the wall would need to stand in a chair to do so.

The victim told police that as she began to undress, she first saw a male’s head drop below the top of the wall, and she first thought he may have been doing maintenance in the other room and accidentally looked at her.

The victim said she continued to undress and was almost completely done when she saw the male looking over the wall a second time, according to the incident report.

The victim told police that she asked the receptionist if the man was an employee working in the room next to her, and she was told he was not.

An employee told police that Havey left the scene in a silver Ford Escape which was later found at Havey’s residence.

According to the police report, Havey admitted to looking over the wall once, saying that he heard a thump and a possible groan come from the room, which led him to believe that the receptionist had gone in the room and fallen.
