Coweta County Assistant Solicitor Sandra Wisenbaker has announced that she will run for the office of Solicitor General of Coweta County currently held by Robert Stokely. Stokely recently announced that he will be running for the District 71 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives.
“Having worked in the Coweta Solicitor’s Office for the past nine years I believe I am the most qualified person to take over this job once Robert Stokely’s term ends later this year. I am an experienced trial attorney who has prosecuted countless cases,” Wisenbaker said.
Wisenbaker said her current position as Senior Chief Assistant Solicitor requires that she be deeply involved in the management of the Solicitor’s Office while handling her own caseload.
“I have developed a strong working relationship with the staff in the Solicitor’s Office and with local law enforcement,” said Wisenbaker. ”It is from these established relationships and experience that I am the best person to move the Solicitor’s Office forward while still maintaining the established policy of tough, but fair, prosecution. If given the opportunity to serve the citizens of Coweta County as the Solicitor General, I will do so with integrity and the fortitude to keep our community safe.”
Coweta County Solicitor Robert Stokely announced in March that he will be qualifying in May for the Dist. 71 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives currently held by Billy Horne (R-Sharpsburg). Horne will not be seeking re-election and Stokely believes this is the time to continue his public service. District 71 includes much of the east Coweta County area and a small portion of Fayette County.
Stokely has served as the county’s solicitor since 1998.
