Bennett’s Mill Middle took out 13 teams to clinch a first place finish at the Science Olympiad Regional Tournament at Columbus State University. The team’s victory secures them a spot in the State Science Olympiad competition at Southern Polytechnic State University in March.
Bennett’s Mill won a total of 18 medals (8 first place, 5 second place, 2 third place, and 3 fourth place) as well as five ribbons for fifth through 10th place finishes.
The team competed in 23 events in the categories of life science, earth science, physical science, technology, and engineering. Competitions consisted of written tests, procedural tests, and building demonstrations.
