Brother Willie J. Smith Jr., age 63, a native of Mobile, Ala. and resident of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. He was born December 15, 1948 in Mobile, Ala.
Willie was a devoted family man and a dedicated sevant of Jehovah. He was a Colonel in the United States Army and was employeed at the United States Post Office where he retired from both.
Willie was preceded in death by his father Willie Smith Sr. and two bothers, Henry and Winston Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Claudia Mae, his devoted wife Patricia, his daughters Kenya Smith (Ronald) of Union City, Ga., Kimberly Weatherspoon (Quincy) of Lake Spivey, Ga., son Derrick Gunnerson (MaryAnn) of Birmingham, Ala. and his beloved grandchildren N’dea and Alexandria of Lake Spivey, Ga. His sisters: Margaret (Paul) Semelfort, Brooklyn N.Y., Sylvia Smith, Rosie Smith (James) Blake, Angela (Darryl) Simmons, Jean (Gary) Hudson, all of Mobile, Ala., and Tamonica Smith of Marietta Ga. Mother in-law Lillie Barney, brother in-law Roy Barney (Silvia), sister in-laws; Mable Gunnerson (Roosevelt), Sharon Matthews (Cliff), Vanessa Hollinshed (Claude) of Mobile Ala., JaQuita Washington of Atlanta, Ga., and a host of other relatives and friends.
The memorial service is set for Saturday Feb. 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 128 Lester Road, Fayetteville, Ga. 30215.
