A Peachtree City woman was arrested Feb. 1 on charges stemming from a purse snatching incident at the Publix grocery store on Ga. Highway 54 just outside the city limits.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brent Rowan said investigators on Feb. 1 arrested Kieatha M. Neal, 25, in connection with a theft case at the Publix store on Jan. 25. Neal was charged with theft by taking and four counts of financial transaction card theft, Rowan said.

Rowan said the case involved Neal stealing a purse from the Publix store on Hwy. 54 West that belonged to a customer. The stolen purse contained $300 cash and four credit cards.

Rowan said the purse and the credit cards were later recovered and returned to the victim.
