Burglars hit two businesses and one residence in Fayetteville as the weekend ended. Discovered Jan. 23, thieves hit a business on South Glynn Street, another at Togwatee Village on Ga. Highway 54 and a residence off South Jeff Davis Drive.

One of the Jan. 23 burglaries occurred at Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt in the 800 block of South Glynn Street. Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw said an officer patrolling the area at approximately 4:30 a.m. observed that the store’s front door had been broken in.

A subsequent check of the premises revealed that the cash register had been taken off the counter and an undetermined amount cash stolen, Crawshaw said.

Another business burglary was discovered on Jan. 23 when employees arrived for work at Edible Arrangements in the Togwatee Village retail center across from Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Det. Mike Whitlow said the front door had been popped out using what is thought to be a large crowbar or similar tool.

Whitlow said an undetermined amount of cash was stolen in the break-in.

Whitlow added that the business burglaries are being reviewed by investigators to determine if there is any connection between the two.

A Jan. 23 residential burglary on Meadowbrook Court off South Jeff Davis Drive was reported by the homeowner. Upon his arrival home at 4:30 a.m. the man found the glass in a back door broken and a number of items missing from the home, said Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said the value of the items was placed at approximately $3,000 and included a computer, television, speakers, an external hard drive, headphones, a wristwatch and a 12-pack of beer.
