Senoia UMC provided a soup and sandwich luncheon to the teachers and staff of East Coweta Middle School on Jan. 4, the only teacher Work Day in the 2011-2012 school year.

A number of members provided soups including taco, broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle, New England clam chowder, chili and many others, along with grilled cheese sandwiches and many wonderful desserts — banana pudding, cookies of all types, cakes, and such.

The effort was headed up by Norma Asher, administrative assistant to the SUMC pastor, Jean Cotton, faculty member of ECMS and member of Senoia UMC, and many other church members who cooked, baked, and served.

The Rev. Nathaniel Long, pastor said, “The drive to do this for Senoia UMC is we wanted to express appreciation and support for those serving our students in education.“
