Coweta County saw a significant drop in unemployment to 8.8 percent in November but it was Newnan that saw the jobless rate fall nearly a full percentage point to 10.2 percent.
The unemployment picture in Coweta got a bit brighter in November with jobless numbers falling half a percentage point to 8.8 percent. That compares to a 9.3 percent rate in October and 9.6 percent in November 2010.
Coweta County has a workforce of 60,564 of which 5,317 are out of work.
The unemployment rate in Newnan was 11.1 percent in October, but when the numbers for November were tallied by the Georgia Dept. of Labor the rate had fallen to 10.2 percent. That compares to the 11.5 percent rate a year ago.
The November figures represent 1,399 people out of workforce of 13,661.
The jobless picture also showed significant improvement across the 10-county Three Rivers Regional Commission area. The 10.9 percent unemployment rate in October dropped to 10.3 percent in November. The November rate equates to 23,185 people of out work in a workforce that totals 226,801.
Things in the 28-county Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area also saw a positive employment move in November when the jobless rate decreased to 9.2 percent. The rate in October was 9.9 percent.

Statewide the unemployment picture fell from 9.9 percent in October to 9.3 percent in November and 10.3 percent a year ago. The November figure represents nearly 440,000 people unemployed out of a workforce of 4.75 million.
