Fayetteville Police are looking for the person responsible for attempting to break open an ATM machine at the Heritage Bank on North Jeff Davis Drive just after midnight on Dec. 26.
Det. Mike Whitlow said the unknown suspect attempted without success to break into the Heritage Bank ATM at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 26. Fayetteville Police are asking for the public’s assistance to locate the suspect who appears to be a small frame male or female with dark eyebrows and a protracted nose, Whitlow said.
Whitlow said the suspect used a flat head pry tool, possibly a large screw-driver, approximately one-half inch wide to make entry to the ATM housing. The suspect was not able to completely enter the ATM safe but did cause a large amount of damage to the entire unit, Whitlow added.
