5 burglaries reported in north Fayette over Thanksgiving

Unincorporated north Fayette County was the setting for five burglaries that occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday period. Thieves in the four-day period targeted three homes, a business and a school.

A Nov. 25 burglary at the BP station on Corinth Road near the intersection of Ga. Highway 54 East resulted in the theft of an undisclosed quantity of wine. The store was also the target of a Nov. 7 break-in that was accomplished by forcing open the front door just after midnight. The only items believed to be missing in that burglary were two cases of beer.

There were three burglaries in unincorporated Fayette County on Nov. 26.

One of those was a break-in at a residence on North Fayette Court off Ga. Highway 314 near the intersection with Ga. Highway 279 where a Playstation 3 was stolen.

A second Nov. 26 theft occurred at a residence on DeVilla Trace off Banks Road near Ga. Highway 54 East where a Yamaha four-wheeler was stolen.

And the day’s third break-in occurred at Our Lady of Mercy High School on Hwy. 279 near Ga. Highway 138 where a pressure washer was reported stolen from a storage room at 9 p.m..

Another residential burglary occurred on Nov. 28, this time on Lafayette Drive west of Hwy. 314 where a forced entry at rear door was discovered. Thieves in this break-in stole jewelry, a television and a laptop computer.

Reports of the burglaries came by way of Nixle texting alerts sent by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
