Mr. Douglas Roscoe Gilmore, 69, of Fayetteville, formerly of Forest Park, passed away on Nov. 21, 2011.

Mr. Gilmore proudly worked for Eastern Air Lines for 25 years, and later drove trucks for Allied Transport and Consolidated Freight.

He was a kind-hearted man, who loved his cats and cars. Often characterized as one who never sat around, he loved being outdoors and was an avid train collector and photographer.

Mr. Gilmore is preceded in death by his dad Elbert David William Gilmore.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Linda Gilmore; daughter Karen Barber and her husband Jimmy of Sharpsburg; granddaughter Jessica Barber; grandson Ryan Barber; sisters Janice Snyder and her husband Alvin, and Nancy Adkins; mom Aileen Gilmore.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Wally Woodcock officiating. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, prior to the service from 11:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
