The Peachtree City Civil Air Patrol Squadron GA-116 has volunteered to conduct the “Wreaths Across America” ceremony this year at the Fayetteville City Cemetery on Saturday December 10th, starting at 11:45 A.M., with a nationwide moment of silence at noon.

Wreaths will be placed to remember those who served, honor their sacrifices, and teach our younger generation about the high cost of our freedoms. Similar ceremonies will take place simultaneously at over 400 participating locations all across the country.

The cadets of the Peachtree City Civil Air Patrol will be working alongside veterans from the American Legion at the local ceremony.

This December will mark the 19th anniversary of Maine wreaths being donated to be placed on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. This is also the seventh year of the national wreath sponsorship campaign under the guidance of the non-profit WreathsAcrossAmerica.org that will bring the same remembrance wreaths to National and State Veterans cemeteries across the nation.

This year it is projected that nationwide more than 160,000 volunteers will take part in the “Wreaths Across America” mission.
