A 19-year-old Tyrone man is facing charges of rape and other felonies related to an Oct. 30 incident involving a 13-year-old Fayetteville female.

Devin J. McGuine was charged by Tyrone police with rape, child molestation and criminal attempt to commit aggravated sodomy, according to Maj. Van Brock. McGuine was also charged by Fayetteville Police with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and loitering or prowling, according to Fayette County Jail records.

The incident occurred at 1:41 a.m. on Oct. 30 when McGuine and the 13-year-old girl were found by Fayetteville Police in a vehicle at the Fayette Pavilion, said Fayetteville Police Maj. Kevin Gooding.

Gooding said the girl’s parents were contacted and verified her age, adding that the juvenile was charged with giving false information about her name and age and with a curfew violation. It was at the pavilion that the girl subsequently told officers she had been raped in another location.

Brock said Tyrone officers met with Fayetteville officers who were transporting the girl to Tyrone because she indicated that she could identify the location where the rape occurred.

Brock said the girl directed officers to the clubhouse at The Estates subdivision off Farr Road.

McGuine resides on Newfield Drive in The Estates subdivision. He is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail.
