Roy Henson, 81, of Peachtree City, passed away on Oct. 12, 2011.
Roy Henson will be remembered as a friend, family man, outdoorsman, and golfer.
Born to Howard and Prudence Henson in Banks County, Ga.; Roy served in the Army Air Corp before becoming an Eastern Airlines Captain.
Roy moved his family to Peachtree City in 1968 and helped found the First Presbyterian Church. Last year, he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary and his 80th birthday with his wife, Judy, family and friends.
The family received friends at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City on Friday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City, Ga.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Presbyterian Church, 206 Willow Bend Road, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269.
Mr. Henson is survived by his wife, Judy Gilder Henson; his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Russ Sorrow, Lee and Jeff McKinney, Kay and John Lloyd; his sisters, Bobbie Harber and Frances Parham; his grandchildren, Will and Clay McKinney, and Jack, Eddie and Mary Katherine Lloyd; and his many nieces and nephews.
