Riley Neil Swicord, 50, of Peachtree City

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, Riley Neil Swicord, of Peachtree City, (formerly of Fayetteville, Ga. and Wedowee, Ala.) passed away at Southwest Christian Care, surrounded in love by family and friends. Riley was 50 years old and fought a brave and tenacious battle with brain cancer. He is now at peace.

Riley was born in Patuxent River, Md., and spent his youth in Fayetteville and Gay, Ga.

He was a graduate of Fayette County High School, and obtained his BA at the Art Institute of Atlanta. He went on to be an accomplished and long time producer of corporate events at Kaleidoscope Productions. Riley was a devoted, loving, and committed father taking enormous pleasure in raising his children. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for motorcycles and loved nothing better than ice cream. He loved music and played the guitar. His enthusiasm for life was legendary.

Riley is survived by his son Christopher Riley, his daughters Jessica Evelyn and Katherine Johanna; his mother Ida Swicord; his sisters Connie Daughtrey, Diane Strickland, Lynda Burnham, and his brother Jimmy Swicord; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Riley Alexander Swicord.

Riley was a father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed.

The family received friends Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville, Ga. Services were held at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at 11 a.m.
