Mr. George Talmadge Terry, 71, of Patterson, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Clarke County, Ga. on Oct. 18, 1940, he lived in Fayette County for many years before moving to Pierce County in 2003. He worked as a long-haul truck driver and also worked as a supervisor with the Atlanta Journal–Constitution.

Mr. Terry was a devout Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed sports of every kind.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, George Hardy & Doris Gaynell Huff Terry.

Survivors include his wife, Jerri Howard Terry of Patterson; a daughter and son-in-law, Missy & Randall Copollino of Fayette County; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg & Sandra Terry of Senoia, Ga., and Phillip & Teresa Terry of Hiram, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, Tiffany & Chris Mize, Nick Terry, Taylor Copollino, Hunter Copollino, Graham Copollino, Payton Terry, Kendall Terry and Preslee Terry; 3 great grandchildren, Emilee Mize, Savannah Mize and Dawson Mize and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Terry were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Rev. Buddy Griner and Rev. Mike Stone officiated.

Interment was in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
