My name is Debbie Steele. Please take a moment to allow me to share with you the personal side of Mayor Ken Steele.

Ken’s life has been that of “service” to God, family, country and community.

After graduating from college,he was commissioned and entered flight training with the U.S. Navy; this is when we married.

Ken served seven years in the Navy, which included a Vietnam tour of duty. He then entered another service career with Delta Airlines. This spanned 30 years.

During this time we raised three wonderful children. They have blessed us with seven grandchildren to love. At that time in our lives, Ken was active giving service to church, coaching youth athletics and leading educational organizations. His presence in our children’s lives was constant; he did not leave parenting just to me.

Being involved in the community has always been important to Ken. He followed and took an active part in Fayetteville. Ken served as a member of the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission for five years and a city councilman for five years before becoming mayor.

He listens and knows how to work and cooperate with others for the common good. I should know, I’ve been married to him for 47 years.

A vote FOR Ken Steele is a vote FOR Fayetteville.
